We invite applications from talented Nurses worldwide for a unique opportunity to join our Neurological Institute as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator in Brain Health. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in Neurology, Geriatrics, or Critical Care.

JOB SUMMARY

The Brain Health Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) coordinates timely, high‑quality, and patient‑centered care for patients with cognitive disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The role serves as a central point of contact for patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless coordination across outpatient services, diagnostic pathways, follow‑up care, patient family education, and care planning in collaboration with brain health physicians. The position reports to the Cognitive Neurology Service Lead.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides comprehensive nursing assessments and care planning for patients with cognitive disorders including Alzheimer’s disease, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), vascular dementia, and other neurocognitive disorders.
  • Coordinates and supports diagnostic pathways including laboratory work‑up, neuroimaging, neuropsychological testing, and specialist referrals.
  • Administers and documents cognitive assessments and screening tools as per service protocols (e.g., MoCA, MMSE, functional and behavioural assessments).
  • Coordinates outpatient Brain Health clinics, ensuring timely scheduling, follow‑up, and continuity of care.
  • Acts as the primary liaison for patients and caregivers, providing education on diagnosis, disease progression, treatment options, community resources, and care planning.
  • Coordinates multidisciplinary care involving neurology, psychiatry, geriatrics, neuropsychology, social work, and allied health services.
  • Ensures accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation using EPIC.
  • Monitors patient pathways, identifies barriers to care, and facilitates timely completion of investigations, follow‑up appointments, and treatment plans.
  • Supports advance care planning discussions in collaboration with physicians and allied health teams.
  • Addresses patient and caregiver concerns or complaints, escalating to physicians or leadership as needed to ensure timely service recovery.
  • Develops, implements, and reviews Brain Health–specific workflows, protocols, and patient education materials aligned with best practices.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings for complex cognitive cases.
  • Supports quality improvement initiatives, data tracking, and reporting related to Brain Health services.
  • Contributes to patient experience initiatives, awareness campaigns, and Brain Health education programs.
  • Participates in research, audits, and service development initiatives related to dementia and cognitive disorders.
  • Ensures compliance with JCIA, DOH, and CCAD standards and supports survey readiness.
  • Engages in continuous professional development to maintain expertise in dementia and cognitive care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the Brain Health Program.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum five (5) years clinical experience in Neurology, Geriatrics, or Critical Care.
  • Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in an acute care setting is required
  • Experience in infusion therapy, biologics, or oncology infusions preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and patient-advocacy skills.
  • Ability to coordinate complex multi-step clinical programs.
  • Expertise in dementia care, cognitive assessment, and clinical red flags.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s biomarkers and DMT criteria.
  • Skilled in communicating with caregivers experiencing distress.
  • Strong MDT and cross-departmental collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive pathways and safety protocols.
  • Ability to speak and write in English is required
  • Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing is preferred
  • Post graduate/Certification in relevant nursing specialty is preferred
