The Clinical Social Worker provides comprehensive psychosocial and therapeutic support to patients accessing mental health services. This role focuses on assessment, intervention, s afeguarding, advocacy, and care coordination to support patient recovery, safety, and continuity of care. The Clinical Social Worker works as an integral member of the multidisciplinary mental health team, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with DOH regulations, safeguarding frameworks, ethical standards, and best clinical practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and mental health assessments, including risk assessment, safeguarding concerns, and vulnerability identification.
• Identify, assess, and manage safeguarding issues involving adults, children, and vulnerable populations, in line with DOH and organizational safeguarding policies.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as counselling, crisis intervention, and supportive psychotherapy within approved scope of practice.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized care and safeguarding plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Coordinate referrals, reporting, and follow-up with internal safeguarding leads and external agencies where required.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical and safeguarding documentation in line with regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
• Provide psychoeducation and guidance to patients and families on safety planning, support systems, and available resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution (Master’s Degree preferred).
• Valid DOH license as Clinical Social Worker or eligibility for DOH licensure.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in mental health or psychiatric services.
• Demonstrated experience in safeguarding, risk management, and working with vulnerable populations.
• Formal training or certification in safeguarding, child protection, or adult protection.
• Familiarity with UAE safeguarding frameworks and DOH compliance requirements.
• Strong advocacy, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in Arabic is required.
