Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Consultant Pain Medicine role based in the Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The Consultant will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic pain conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting detailed clinical evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing individualized treatment plans using pharmacological, interventional, and non-pharmacological approaches. The role involves performing pain procedures as appropriate, collaborating closely with other physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring continuity and quality of care. The Consultant will also participate in clinical governance, contribute to protocol development, engage in patient and family education, and support training and mentoring of junior clinicians and allied health professionals.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical expertise in Medicine, with board certification or equivalent qualification in Pain Medicine or Anesthesiology with a pain subspecialty.
• Experience in multidisciplinary clinical environments, including collaboration and Working with Physicians across specialties.
• Knowledge of related specialties such as Cardiology and Emergency Medicine to support holistic assessment and management of patients with complex comorbidities.
• Experience in Training, mentoring, and supervising junior doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Current, valid medical license (or eligibility) to practice as a Consultant in the United Arab Emirates.
• Proven competence in interventional pain procedures and evidence-based pain management protocols.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to provide empathetic, patient-centered care in a diverse, multicultural setting.
• Strong commitment to clinical quality, patient safety, documentation standards, and participation in audits, research, or quality improvement initiatives.
