Lab Doctor

• Perform wide range of laboratory experiments that are used in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.
• Supervise / Monitor the work of biological technicians and other workers and evaluate the accuracy of their results.
• Isolate and maintain cultures of bacteria or other microorganisms for study / diagnosis as required.
• Identify and classify microorganisms found in specimens collected from humans, plants, animals, or the environment.
• Monitor the effect of microorganisms on human, plants, animals, other microorganisms, or the environment.
• To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• To be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of any resources that you use and influence, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director.
• Record, analyze and interpret data & Ensure data is recorded accurately in accordance with guidelines.
• Remain up to date with scientific and research developments.
• Validate microbiological methods to meet client requirements, as appropriate
• Observe action of microorganisms upon living tissues of plants, higher animals, and other microorganisms, and on dead organic matter.
• Investigate the relationship between organisms and disease, including the control of epidemics and the effects of antibiotics on microorganisms.
• Able to Use a variety of specialized equipment
• To undertake duties as defined within the relevant attached job plan in so far as practicable and in agreement with your lead clinician and clinical director
