Medical Receptionist Job Responsibilities

• Collect samples such as blood, urine, and tissue specimens from patients using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Perform various tests including hematological, chemical, microbiological, immunological, and cytological analyses using automated equipment and manual methods.
• Accurately record and document test results, maintain laboratory records, and enter data into computer systems following established protocols.
• Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensure proper functioning of instruments, and participate in quality control and proficiency testing programs.
• Analyze test results, identify abnormalities or irregularities, and report findings to healthcare professionals for diagnosis and treatment.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems with equipment, reagents, or procedures, and take appropriate corrective actions to maintain the integrity of test results.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including handling of hazardous materials, maintaining cleanliness and sterility in the laboratory environment, and following infection control procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and front desk staff to ensure effective communication of test results and patient care.
• Stay updated with advances in laboratory technology, new testing methodologies, and relevant regulations by participating in continuing education programs and professional development activities.
