Mechanical Technician – MEP & Offshore

Job Title: Mechanical Technician – MEP & Offshore Department: Operations / Maintenance / MEP Reports To: MEP Supervisor / Maintenance Engineer / Offshore Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, pumps, rotating equipment, and offshore mechanical equipment. The role requires experience in both onshore and offshore environments, ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and uninterrupted operations. Key Responsibilities MEP Maintenance Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, package units, split ACs, and ventilation systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of plumbing, drainage, and water supply systems. Inspect and maintain firefighting systems, pumps, valves, sprinklers, and hose reels. Troubleshoot mechanical faults and perform repairs to ensure minimum downtime. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals. Carry out routine inspections and prepare maintenance reports. Offshore Maintenance Perform maintenance and repair of offshore mechanical equipment, pumps, compressors, generators, diesel engines, and utility systems. Conduct preventive maintenance activities as per maintenance schedules. Assist in shutdowns, turnarounds, and commissioning activities. Inspect and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Support rigging and lifting operations as required. Ensure compliance with offshore safety procedures, PTW (Permit to Work), LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), and HSE regulations. Participate in emergency response and offshore safety drills. Work in offshore platforms, vessels, rigs, and oil & gas facilities. Qualifications ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification. 3–7 years of experience in MEP maintenance, facilities management, offshore oil & gas, marine, or industrial projects. Experience working on offshore platforms, rigs, vessels, or oil & gas facilities is preferred. Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
