Senior Automotive Diagnostic Technician

Job Title: Senior Multi-Brand Diagnostic Technician ​Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE (Musaffah ) Experience Required: 4–6 Years Employment Type: Full-Time ​Job Purpose ​The Senior Diagnostic Technician is responsible for identifying complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults across a wide range of vehicle brands (European, Japanese, American, and Korean). This role requires a "first-time-right" approach to minimize repeat jobs and provide technical mentorship to junior mechanics. ​Key Responsibilities ​Advanced Diagnostics: Perform expert-level troubleshooting using OEM and universal scan tools (e.g., Autel, Launch, Bosch, or brand-specific software). ​System Analysis: Diagnose faults in Engine Management, Transmission (AT/DCT), ABS/ESP, Airbags (SRS), ADAS, and Hybrid/EV systems. ​Complex Repairs: Execute high-level electrical repairs, including wiring harness fixes, ECU programming, and sensor calibrations. ​Quality Control: Conduct final road tests and quality inspections to ensure all repairs meet safety and manufacturer standards. ​Mentorship: Assist the Workshop Foreman in guiding junior technicians through difficult "trouble cases" and sharing best practices. ​Documentation: Provide detailed technical reports and estimates for Service Advisors to communicate clearly with customers. ​Required Skills & Qualifications ​Experience: Minimum 4–6 years of hands-on experience in a reputable multi-brand service center or dealership. ​Education: Diploma or ITI in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering. ​Technical Knowledge: \* Deep understanding of CAN-bus systems and vehicle networking. ​Proficiency in reading complex wiring diagrams and technical bulletins. ​Experience with A/C systems, including leak detection and compressor overhaul. ​Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a professional demeanor for high-end/corporate clients. ​Language: Fluent in English (Arabic is a significant advantage). ​License: Must hold a valid UAE Driving License. ​Preferred Attributes ​Experience with premium brands (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, or Porsche). ​Certification in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle (EV) diagnostics. ​Previous experience working in the UAE/GCC automotive market. ​Salary & Benefits (Market Estimate) ​Salary: Competitive monthly package (typically ranging from AED 5,000 to AED 8,500 depending on specific brand expertise). ​Benefits: Health insurance, annual air ticket, and performance-based incentives. ​Would you like me to create a customized interview scorecard or a list of technical screening questions to help you vet candidates for this role?
