Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and energetic Supermarket Manager to lead daily retail and commercial operations for Syrian Food Supermarkt in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will oversee floor operations, inventory lifecycle, staff management, and supplier relations with a focus on authentic Levantine and Middle Eastern food products.

The Manager will ensure smooth store execution, maintain high hygiene standards in compliance with Sharjah Municipality guidelines, and drive sales growth while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities1. Store Operations & Floor Management

• Oversee full day-to-day operations of the supermarket, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, visual merchandising, and product display.
• Monitor fresh food counters (roastery, deli, fresh produce, bakery) to ensure product freshness, attractive presentation, and minimal wastage/shrinkage.
• Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene regulations set by Sharjah Municipality and local UAE authorities.
• Address customer complaints, feedback, and inquiries professionally to deliver an exceptional shopping experience.

2. Inventory & Supply Chain Control

• Manage stock levels, shelf replenishment, and inventory accuracy to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
• Coordinate directly with local and regional suppliers for Middle Eastern/Syrian specialty goods, spices, cheeses, meat, and dry groceries.
• Conduct regular stock audits and implement strategies to reduce product damage, theft, and expiration loss (shrinkage control).

3. Team Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise, schedule, and lead floor staff, cashiers, stock keepers, and department heads.
• Train new staff on customer service standards, product knowledge, POS operations, and workplace safety.
• Maintain team morale, resolve internal conflicts, and foster a productive, customer-centric work environment.

4. Financials & Sales Targets

• Drive store sales performance to meet or exceed monthly revenue targets set by management.
• Monitor daily sales reports, cash flows, POS transactions, and operating expenses.
• Plan and execute seasonal promotional campaigns, special sales events (e.g., Ramadan, Eid), and bundle offers tailored to the target audience.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of proven management experience in a supermarket, grocery store, or hypermarket environment in the UAE (Sharjah experience preferred).
• Language Skills:
• Arabic: Fluent/Native (Required for customer interaction, supplier negotiation, and staff leadership)
• English: Conversational / Good working knowledge (Added Value)
• Product Knowledge: Strong background in Middle Eastern/Levantine food retail, fresh food handling, and local consumer preferences.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Sound understanding of Sharjah Municipality food safety rules and commercial retail regulations.
• Skills: Excellent leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, inventory management, and basic P&L analytical skills.
