Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder to join our healthcare team in Al Ain, UAE. The ideal candidate must possess a recognized medical coding certification and have a minimum of 3 years of coding experience within a hospital or healthcare setting. The candidate will be responsible for accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes while ensuring compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and payer guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other applicable codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with DHA, DOH, MOHAP, and insurance payer guidelines.
• Analyze clinical documentation to ensure complete and accurate coding.
• Work closely with physicians and clinical teams to clarify documentation when required.
• Identify coding discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Support billing teams by ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by the organization.
• Stay updated with coding guidelines, regulatory changes, and payer policies.
• Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health, or a related field.
• Mandatory coding certification such as AAPC (CPC), AHIMA (CCS/CCA), or an equivalent recognized certification.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on medical coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with UAE healthcare regulations and insurance coding practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in UAE hospitals or healthcare facilities.
• Knowledge of specialty coding (Emergency, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Radiology, etc.) is an added advantage.
