Position Overview A leading tertiary-care hospital in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join and help lead its Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU). The ideal candidate will provide expert critical care management for neonates, infants, and children with congenital and acquired heart diseases, including pre‑ and post‑operative cardiac surgical patients, interventional cardiology cases, and complex cardiac emergencies.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Expertise

  • Provide comprehensive critical care management for pediatric cardiac patients, including:

  • Pre‑operative stabilization and optimization

  • Post‑operative management following congenital heart surgery

  • Care of patients undergoing interventional cardiology procedures

  • Management of heart failure, arrhythmias, and cardiomyopathies

  • ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring

  • Lead daily PCICU rounds and coordinate multidisciplinary care plans.

  • Interpret and manage complex diagnostic data including echocardiography, hemodynamic studies, and advanced imaging.

  • Provide on‑call coverage for pediatric cardiac emergencies.

Leadership & Program Development

  • Contribute to the strategic development and expansion of the Pediatric Cardiac ICU service.
  • Develop and update clinical pathways, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and nursing teams.
  • Mentor junior physicians, fellows, and critical care nursing staff.

Family & Patient Engagement

  • Communicate complex clinical information clearly and compassionately to families.
  • Support families through decision‑making, long‑term care planning, and post‑discharge follow‑up.
  • Promote a family‑centered care environment.

Academic & Research Contributions

  • Participate in clinical research, audits, and quality improvement projects.
  • Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Contribute to institutional CME programs and represent the department at conferences.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
  • Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesiology with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of post‑specialization experience, including consultant‑level practice in a high‑volume cardiac center.
  • Expertise in managing complex congenital heart disease and post‑operative cardiac ICU care.
  • Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Consultant licensure.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
