Emergency Medical Technician

Description Job Purpose: Responds to emergency calls, provides pre-hospital and in-hospital patient care, and safely transports patients to the Emergency Room on a 24/7 basis under the supervision of the EMS Operations Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities And Duties

• Patient Care: Deliver high-quality pre-hospital and in-hospital patient care based on patient needs and approved medical protocols under supervision.
• Vehicle & Equipment Readiness: Operate and maintain EMS vehicles and equipment to ensure readiness. Perform shift-start vehicle checks, complete logbooks and checklists, and report malfunctions immediately.
• Administrative & Clinical Reporting: Complete administrative and clinical tasks assigned by the Operations Supervisor/Manager. Report accidents, incidents, breakdowns, and defects with accurate documentation.
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Work collaboratively with EMS team members and healthcare professionals. Assist in orientation and development of EMS personnel. Promote teamwork and a supportive environment.
• Safety & Cleanliness: Ensure safety measures for patients and staff. Maintain personal cleanliness and ensure ambulance/equipment remain sanitized and organized.
• Resource Management: Use medical supplies properly to avoid wastage. Participate in problem-solving and manage limited resources effectively.
• Protocol Compliance: Adhere strictly to privilege list, scope of authority, and approved medical protocols.
• Ambulance Driving: Drive ambulances safely for patient transport. Read maps, follow directions, and report transportation delays or issues.
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician.

• Education: Diploma or higher in Emergency Medical Services or a related clinical emergency field.

• Language: Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic.

• Licenses / Certifications:

• Valid Light Transport Driving License

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Advanced Life Support (ALS)

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

• Emergency Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS)

• Valid SCFHS license for EMS profession
