Job Description Summary

The Industrial Hygienist Specialist perform activities of the implementation, coordination, and day.-to.-day of the industrial hygiene program in all JHAH facilities. Directly work as industrial hygienist

  • Assist in developing and planning Occupational Health Hazard Assessment OHHA program via Industrial Hygiene activities such as surveys and associated samplings
  • Assist in developing and planning effective mitigation of workplace hazards
  • Assist in developing and planning policies and procedures
  • Assist in developing and planning testing and certification of engineering controls including but not limited to airborne infection isolation rooms for the effective control of chemical and biological agents
  • Assist in developing and planning administration of design reviews
  • Assist in developing and planning programs to ensure chemical and biological safety via compliance with the JHAH Hazardous Materials and Waste Management program for example hazardous materials inventory storage safety data sheets etc
  • Assist in developing and planning Programs and schedules
  • Assist in developing and planning application of advanced technical methodologies and best practices to workplace hazards to comply with Saudi governmental rules and regulations Saudi Aramco general instructions and JHAH accrediting agencies

Operational Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct and perform Occupational Health Hazard Assessment OHHA program via Industrial Hygiene activities such as surveys and associated samplings
  • Conduct and perform effective mitigation of workplace hazards
  • Conduct and perform review of policies and procedures and the periodic review of those policies and procedures from an Industrial Hygiene standpoint
  • Conduct and perform testing and certification of engineering controls including but not limited to airborne infection isolation rooms for the effective control of chemical and biological agents
  • Conduct and perform administration of design reviews from an Industrial Hygiene standpoint for projects associated with building construction renovations and engineering controls
  • Conduct and perform pharmacy clean room testing programs to comply with US Pharmacopeia standards
  • Conduct and perform programs to ensure chemical and biological safety via compliance with the JHAH Hazardous Materials and Waste Management program for example hazardous materials inventory storage safety data sheets etc
  • Conduct and perform programs and schedules to evaluate workers exposure to chemicals
  • Conduct and perform corrective actions to address worker overexposures
  • Conduct and perform respiratory protection program to control workers exposures to airborne contaminants
  • Conduct and perform training programs related to Industrial Hygiene to raise the level of worker safety awareness in JHAH
  • Conduct and perform programs to address indoor air quality IAQ issues including mold in JHAH facilities
  • Conduct and perform application of advanced technical methodologies and best practices to workplace hazards to comply with Saudi governmental rules and regulations Saudi Aramco general instructions and JHAH accrediting agencies
  • Conduct and perform emergency response scenarios and drills to comply with MOH requirements and the JHAH Emergency Response Plan Code Orange

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor Degree in Industrial Hygiene or similar field, such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental and Occupational Safety or Occupational Hygiene, from an accredited university. Master's Degree in Industrial Hygiene or similar field such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental and Occupational Safety or Occupational Hygiene, from an accredited institute is preferred.

Professional Certifications Required

U.S. board IH certification is preferred

Years of Experience

Minimum 11 years of direct experience in (healthcare based) Environmental Health, (5 years post Master)

Languages
