Learning Support Assistant (Sakina)

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities

• Support the student's learning, in and out of the classroom, including breaktimes and after-school activities as needed.
• Requires 1:1 support to access curriculum and school environment.
• Be familiar with the student's IEP and its objectives
• Liaise with teachers, key workers, and other professionals (e.g. speech and language therapists) as required
• Help the student develop independence, communication skills, and confidence
• Identify barriers to learning and support access to the curriculum
• Support reading, written work, and completion of set tasks
• Assist with social integration, group work, and wider school life (clubs, activities, trips)
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reports and review meetings
• Comply with all relevant policies, including Child Protection, Health & Safety, and Confidentiality

Essential Requirements

• Degree-level education in Education, Psychology, Special Education or related field
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Valid UAE Police Clearance Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Discretion and confidentiality essential
