Manager, Rehabilitation is responsible to lead and effectively direct the rehabilitation service provision within the allocated facility in conjunction with the Rehabilitation
Managers of other M42 facilities to ensure consistency. The Manager, Rehabilitation is responsible for providing and ensuring safe, effective, evidence-based and interdisciplinary therapy (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics, Special Education, Recreational therapy) for adult and pediatric services within their professional scopes, in a long-term care and/or post-acute rehabilitation setting and/or home healthcare services and/or outpatient department.
Responsibilities
- Manager provides strong professional leadership by guiding, mentoring, and supporting the interdisciplinary therapy team while ensuring staff work within their scope of practice.
- Oversee daily workload allocation, maintain appropriate staffing and skill mix, and participate actively in organizational change, recruitment, and strategic goal setting.
- Collaborate closely with clinical teams to deliver high-quality, individualized care, ensuring timely interventions, evidence-based practice, and appropriate escalation when patient conditions change.
- Manager evaluates patient progress, adjusts treatment plans, and prioritizes care based on ongoing clinical needs while ensuring comprehensive documentation and continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families, prescribe necessary equipment, and promote patient rights, dignity, and cultural sensitivity in a multicultural environment.
- Participate in clinical meetings, provide clinical handovers, perform home care visits when required, and respond to emergencies according to organizational policies.
- Manager supports clinical education through peer review, mentoring, student preceptorship, training delivery, and participation in research and conferences.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, set annual objectives aligned with organizational strategy, monitor team performance, and ensure compliance with safety, clinical guidelines, and equipment standards.
- Role includes identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting strategic and operational goal execution within the division.
- Maintain effective communication across teams, comply with all regulatory requirements, uphold organizational culture, and complete ongoing professional development and licensing obligations.
Qualifications Education
- Discipline-specific Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy.
Preferred
- MSc or participation in the completion of a relevant postgraduate degree/diploma.
- Evidence of completion of discipline-specific specialist courses Eg. Bobath, Airway Management.
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience of working in a large hospital setting or rehabilitation setting.
Preferred
- Evidence of progression in advancement into leadership/senior roles and responsibilities.
