Role Description

The Medical Referral Audit Officer (GP) supports the Referral Excellence project by reviewing cases, validating referral triggers, identifying missed referral opportunities, and improving referral closure discipline across multiple branches.

This is a clinical operations role, not only a documentation audit role.

The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing audit claims reports, ensuring compliance with medical, insurance and administrative standards.

The role involves using professional auditing techniques and providing actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency and maintain the organization's high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Experience with Audit Reports, including preparation, review, and compliance evaluation.
• Proficiency in IT Audit and familiarity with healthcare-related IT systems and workflows.
• Knowledge of insurance principles and the ability to analyze and interpret medical data.
• Strong Analytical Skills to evaluate processes, data, and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
• In-depth expertise in Auditing practices and methods, preferably in the healthcare sector.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Previous experience in a medical or healthcare-related auditing role is highly preferred.
• Relevant graduate degree or professional certification in a related field such as accounting, auditing, or healthcare management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• MBBS / Medical degree (GP level)
• Valid professional classification / registration (SCFHS preferred, if required for role scope)
• Clinical experience in outpatient / primary care settings
• Good understanding of referral decision making and specialty pathways
• Ability to review clinical records and identify red flags / referral indications
• Good written English
• Comfortable working with HIS reports / Excel / basic dashboards
