Through active participation in Clinical Governance Committees, internal and external audits, and clinical incident management, you will contribute to a culture of continuous quality improvement (CQI). Your responsibilities will include monitoring patient outcomes, coordinating emergency preparedness drills, and conducting competency assessments to uphold clinical standards. You will also lead your medical practice and supervise team members adhering to ethical codes and best practices.

As a key medical professional within International SOS's Medical Services Business Line, the Site Medical Officer in Oman, will provide comprehensive patient care and oversee community and occupational health programs, ensuring adherence to the highest clinical governance standards and ethical medical practice.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Site Medical Officer (SMO) is entrusted with delivering high-quality patient care, addressing both primary healthcare needs and emergency medical conditions effectively and compassionately. Your role will necessitate responsiveness in medical evacuations while ensuring that all care services align with globally recognized medical and ethical standards.
Primary responsibilities include
- Clinical Care Delivery: Provide timely and competent medical care including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for onsite personnel and local community members in compliance with established clinical protocols and international best practices.
- Quality Assurance and Administrative Duties: Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, participate in audits, and implement corrective actions to comply with International SOS Quality Management Systems and Clinical Governance processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients, community leaders, and other health professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate community health initiatives and occupational health programs tailored to client contractual specifications.
- Training and Development: Design and deliver training sessions for medical and non-medical staff to promote awareness and competency in health and safety practices relevant to the work environment.
- Emergency Response and Medical Evacuations: Coordinate and lead medical evacuation efforts efficiently, ensuring rapid response protocols are in place and followed rigorously to safeguard patient outcomes.
