Job Summary
The OPD Nurse in a Day Surgery Clinic is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to patients undergoing minor surgical and diagnostic procedures. The role includes pre-operative assessment, intra-clinic assistance, post-operative monitoring, patient education, and ensuring compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Patient Assessment & Care
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of patients attending the outpatient/day surgery clinic.
- Record and monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to the physician.
- Prepare patients physically and emotionally for minor surgical procedures.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
- Provide post-procedure care and monitor recovery before discharge.
- Recognize and respond promptly to medical emergencies.
2. Pre-Operative & Post-Operative Care
- Verify patient identity and surgical consent documentation.
- Ensure pre-operative investigations and documentation are complete.
- Provide wound care and dressing changes as required.
- Administer medications as prescribed.
- Educate patients and families regarding post-procedure care, medications, and follow-up appointments.
3. Infection Control & Safety
- Adhere to Dubai Health Authority (DHA) guidelines and clinic infection control policies.
- Maintain sterile techniques during procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste and sharps.
- Participate in quality assurance and patient safety initiatives.
4. Documentation & Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Document nursing care, observations, medications, and procedures.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless patient care.
- Schedule follow-ups and assist with clinic workflow management.
5. Equipment & Supplies Management
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels of medical supplies and report shortages.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report faults.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Valid DHA License / Eligibility Letter to practice in Dubai.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (preferably in OPD, Day Surgery, or Surgical Unit).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS preferred).
- Strong knowledge of infection control standards.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
