KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse – Endocrinology OPD is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to patients with endocrine disorders in the outpatient setting. The role supports endocrinologists in the assessment, treatment, education, and follow-up of patients with conditions such as diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, obesity, osteoporosis, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, and other endocrine diseases. The nurse promotes patient education, chronic disease management, and multidisciplinary collaboration while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and international quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with DHA regulations, hospital policies, and international best practices.
• Assess patients by obtaining comprehensive medical history, vital signs, anthropometric measurements (height, weight, BMI), and medication history.
• Prepare patients for physician consultations and assist during examinations and procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, and vaccinations as per physician orders.
• Perform point-of-care testing including blood glucose monitoring and urine analysis when indicated.
• Assist in insulin initiation, insulin titration, and injection technique education.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and escalate any abnormal findings promptly.

Diabetes & Endocrine Patient Education

• Educate patients on diabetes self-management, including:
• Blood glucose monitoring
• Insulin administration
• Hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia management
• Medication adherence
• Foot care
• Lifestyle modification
• Provide education on thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, obesity management, and other endocrine conditions.
• Reinforce dietary advice in collaboration with Dietitians.
• Encourage compliance with treatment plans and scheduled follow-up visits.

Care Coordination

• Coordinate appointments, investigations, referrals, and follow-up visits.
• Collaborate with endocrinologists, dietitians, diabetes educators, pharmacists, laboratory staff, radiology, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Facilitate referrals to diabetes education services and other specialty clinics as appropriate.
• Ensure continuity of care for chronic disease management.

Licenses / Certifications: DHA License/DHA Eligibility Letter

Education requirements: Bachelor's in Nursing

Availability : Immediate

Licensure

• Valid DHA Registered Nurse License or Eligibility Letter.
• BLS Certification (AHA preferred).
• ACLS certification is an advantage.

Tagalong Speaking preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED7,500.00 per month
