Senior Application Analyst

About the Role
The Senior Application Analyst will be certified and have a minimum of 6 years implementation and support experience in one or more IT Clinical applications. The analyst will be required to support, train and provide the needed informatics support as and when required. The Analyst will work closely with other Application Level I, II and Senior application analysts in support of the Clinical applications configuration and Implementation. The Analyst will also understand the clinical workflows that support the application build working alongside business caregiver counterparts. The Senior Analyst would help in advising the team leader and manager to help to prioritize work alongside appropriate resource allocation based on demand. The Senior analyst will expect to help support the more junior analysts in their development and be an assigned mentor. The role will require flexibility being a hospital with at times a need to do shift work and support caregivers 24*7.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, Facilitates, and Documents requirements and validation sessions
- Works closely with business and clinical operations to obtain and document clinical workflows and processes
- Ability to analyze queries as related to functionality of assigned clinical applications
- Provides the needed site support, training and informatics support as required
- Provides operational support by resolving incidents, completing operational and enhancement requests independently
- Follow the IT change control process, attend and present their changes in appropriate change control boards
- Support and develop Analyst level 1 & 2 to foster their development
- Lead and contribute to ongoing clinical application projects by working with the project manager
- Support the Team Lead in project scoping, and effort estimation for tasks
- Lead the workflow design by providing subject matter expertise
- Support the senior analyst in sprint planning and capacity planning for delivery of enhancement requests
- Obtains a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Clinical applications in order to analyze, design, build/configure and validate
- Implement and provide ongoing maintenance for all clinical application functionality in accordance with operation and technical requirements
- Works closely with Application Analysts Level I, Level II and Senior Analysts to build clinical application functionality as defined by requirements analysis and documentation
- Obtains a thorough understanding of the other CCAD IT clinical applications that are not in the Analysts direct remit
- Provides strong data analysis, designs specifications and documentation
- Coordinates clinical application reporting requests and assists with defining report requirements and validating results
- Assists with Testing activities, tests new application releases in conjunction with established change control processes, and further develops test plans for new and existing workflows
- Adheres to the governance using data to help manage the team and their own performance
- Analyzes problems and suggests innovative solutions
- Highlights issues relating to system configuration and integration
- Maintains issue tracking and follows issue tracking policies and guidelines
- Works with enterprise subject matter experts and services resources in managing the resolution of clinical application incidents
- Participates in the escalation of issues with appropriate internal resources and troubleshoots issues with assistance
- Acts as a central point of contact for best practices and uses knowledge of clinical and business processes to translate clinical methodologies into Application specifications, documentation, and project plans
- Mentors and develops Analyst 1 and Analyst 2 caregivers
- Provides end-user support for technical and workflow issues, new functionality implementation, and system upgrades for the electronic medical record and other clinical systems
- Participates in training caregivers on the use of Clinical applications, enhancing the skills of existing caregivers, and communicating application enhancements or new functionality
- Develops and maintains training manuals, multi-media visual aids and other educational materials as needed
- Contributes to and supports the Clinical Application Training Environments
- Obtains and implements software design changes(s) of enhancement specifications
- Using Quality Improvement Principles, works under the supervision of the Lead Application Analyst to identify and document
- Provides support to new end-users during their “Go-Live” phase, including direct provider support during patient encounters
- Lead Troubleshooting of system problems from end-users
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Clinical degree in Medicine, Dentistry, nursing, pharmacy or Health care management with required Healthcare IT experience
- Prior Clinical Application Implementation experience of 6 years is required
- Experience typically supported by a license in a medically related field such as Medical, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Laboratory, or Medical Technology is preferred
- Certification in multiple Clinical applications
Required Skills
- Knowledge of healthcare industry required; familiarity with clinical and administrative hospital functions and departments preferred
- Familiarity with various programming and clinical application reporting tools
- Ability to work with servers and apply software upgrades
- Ability to perform independently and manage workload appropriately
- Team player who creates a positive team environment
- Customer Service orientation is required
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong working relationships
- Proficient with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio and MS Power-Point
- Ability to speak and write in English is required
- Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred
- Additional certifications in Epic Cadence and ADT are preferred
- Additional certification in 3m coding modules preferred
