Senior Clinical Scientist

Job Purpose:

Ensure optimal utilization of all resources and equipment and anticipate future requirements and developments from trends and workload statistics.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1- Ensure that the Head of Unit is informed of all activities, trouble areas, achievements and concerns.

2- Propose and implement approved corrective actions when necessary.

3- Submit monthly statistics and maintain comparison charts for workload statistics, monthly quality facilitators report, instigate audits when judged necessary.

4- Participate in interviews of prospective technical staff and performance evaluation of current technical staff and the continuous education by presenting papers at in-house journal club meetings, attending conferences, seminars and workshops, review relative publications.

5- Train and orient new appointees and trainees and supervise work of students posted in the laboratory.

6- Write and review P&Ps, datasheets and forms relevant to the department and ensures timely release of results.

7- Liaises with other department to ensure high standards of services.

8- Takes part in the plan for future development of the lab & acquisition of new tests and technologies.

9- Responsible for training Healthcare workers including medical residents, nurses & also students of medicine & allied Health Sciences posted in the lab.

10- Perform other duties that are requested within his/her specialty.

Years of Experience:

• 5 years for PHD
• 15 years for Masters
