Special Education Teacher (Small Group Classroom)

Location: Dubai
Type: Part-Time (8:00 AM – 1:30 PM)

About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to support an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA-based) small-group classroom for children with special needs. Teaching ratio 1:2 (1 teacher for 2 staff, with a maximum class size of 5 students). You will work under the supervision of a BCBA/BCaBA/QBA and alongside a Lead RBT/ABAT to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), support student learning, manage behavior, and ensure safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement IEP goals prepared by supervising BCBA/BCaBA/QBA.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with student needs.
  • Keep learning materials, resources, and the classroom organized.
  • Ensure student safety and follow safeguarding protocols at all times.
  • Support behavior management using evidence-based strategies.
  • Record data on skill acquisition, progress, and behavior daily using ABA principles.
  • Prepare student progress notes, reports, and portfolios.
  • Assist with term-end parent/teacher report meetings.
  • Prepare visual schedules, worksheets, and teaching aids.
  • Maintain communication with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Attend internal trainings and professional development sessions.
  • Collaborate with therapists to ensure consistency across programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or Psychology (required).
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher and/or Behavior Therapist (preferred).
  • Strong classroom and behavior management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with therapists and co-teachers.
  • Compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with diverse needs.

Preferred

  • ABAT/RBT certification or previous ABA experience.
  • Spouse visa/ sponsorship already in place.
  • Experience in small group or inclusive classroom settings.
