Job Summary
The Specialist Emergency Medicine is responsible for providing high-quality, timely, and safe emergency and urgent medical care to patients presenting to the Urgent Care Unit. The role focuses on rapid assessment, stabilization, diagnosis, and management of acute medical and surgical conditions, with particular coordination for plastic surgery–related emergencies and postoperative complications.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Provide immediate assessment, diagnosis, and management of emergency and urgent medical conditions.
- Manage plastic surgery–related emergencies, postoperative complications, trauma, infections, and acute pain cases.
- Perform emergency procedures such as wound management, suturing, abscess drainage, airway management, and resuscitation.
- Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and arrange transfer when higher-level care is required.
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic investigations in accordance with hospital policies.
- Ensure proper triage and prioritization of patients based on clinical urgency.
Patient Safety & Quality Care
- Adhere to DHA regulations, hospital policies, and international patient safety standards.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure infection control and emergency preparedness protocols are strictly followed.
Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate closely with plastic surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, and other specialists.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Provide clear handover and continuity of care for admitted or transferred patients.
Administrative & Professional Duties
- Participate in on-call and shift duties as per the Urgent Care Unit schedule.
- Support hospital accreditation standards (e.g., JCI) and regulatory inspections.
- Engage in continuous medical education (CME) and professional development activities.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: AED15,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
