Job Title: Sterilization Technician

Job Description

The Sterilization Technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, packaging, and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and sterile environment. This role requires strict adherence to infection control procedures and hospital standards to prevent contamination and maintain patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments and medical equipment.
  • Operate sterilization machines (e.g., autoclaves) and monitor sterilization cycles.
  • Label and store sterilized items properly.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
  • Follow all infection prevention and safety guidelines.
  • Report any equipment malfunction or contamination issues immediately.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Sterile Processing or a related healthcare field.
  • Knowledge of sterilization methods and infection control standards.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous hospital or clinic experience preferred.
