Consultant - Pediatric Gastroenterology

Job Description Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman is seeking a qualified and dedicated Consultant – Pediatric Gastroenterology to provide comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care for infants, children, and adolescents with gastrointestinal, hepatic, and nutritional disorders. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in accordance with international best practices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric gastrointestinal, liver, and nutritional disorders
• Perform and interpret relevant diagnostic procedures (e.g., endoscopy, biopsy, imaging coordination)
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and follow-up plans
• Provide consultation services to inpatient and outpatient pediatric cases
• Collaborate with pediatricians, surgeons, dietitians, nurses, and allied health professionals
• Educate patients and families on disease management, nutrition, and preventive care
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuing medical education
• Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
• Completion of a recognized residency in Pediatric Gastroenterology
• Board Certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology
• Valid medical license to practice
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role (preferably in a tertiary care hospital)
• Strong clinical, decision-making, and communication skills
