Laboratory Technologist

• Assists the Consultant Microbiologist in the laboratory by performing a variety of Microbiology duties; perform preparatory procedures of all test procedures for the microbiologists
• Performs automated technical procedures not requiring quantitative or professional judgment
• Drafts written reports, procedures and correspondence for review and authorization by a Consultant Microbiologist
• Instructs nurses, physicians and even patient on specific specimen collection and submission
• Performs simple clerical duties, such as preparing routine specimens and maintaining simple operational records
• Builds and maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, other county employees and the public using principles of good customer service
• Assists the laboratory colleagues, assistants, new staff and trainees as necessary
• Does cleaning and disinfection of working tables, biosafety cabinets, instruments and machines
• Updates instrument data such as temperature, airflow systems and other maintenance checklists and report non-functional to concerned individuals or units

Qualification & Experience Requirements :

• Bachelors Degree in Laboratory Tech or equivalent
• DHA License as Laboratory Technologist is a MUST
• 2-3 years hospital/clinic experience in GCC
• With good expereince in handling pedia patients.
