Job Description

The post holder will always work within the scope of practice, put the health, wellbeing and safety of their patient first as they assess, plan, implement and evaluate their needs.

Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

These must be upheld in accordance with the UAE Code of Conduct, Scope of Practice and licensure as per the regulator.

The post holder will:

•Always speak up if safety is a concern

•Treat all patients with kindness, respect and compassion.

•Recognize and work within the limits of their own competence

•Take responsibility for their own actions

•Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure patients receives the safest, most effective care possible.

•Perform additional duties when required

Education and Training:

•Ensure relevant training and competency is undertaken to deliver care safely

•Maintain up-to-date mandatory training requirements.

•Follow and comply with the NMC Nurse Competency Matrix / Framework, relevant to their role profile.

•Perform essential life support as per regulatory requirements and scope such as but not limited to Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation etc.

•Participate in the development of standards, procedures and protocols.

•Facilitate evidence-based practice.

•Promote change in nursing practice when required.

•Take a proactive role under the guidance of Nursing Management/Nursing Education in training, education and CQI activities of nursing staff.

•Promote a safe learning environment.

•Identify opportunities for improvement.

•Perform other professional duties as may be assigned within his/her scope and ability.

Qualifications Essential: the post holder must

•Have evidenced experience in managing teams

•Be able to influence and implement change when necessary

•Be able to make decisions and communicate effectively

•Have an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all the qualifications and experience these mandates.

•Manage their own professional re-licensure.

•Have valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.

•Be willing to work across departments when necessary.

•Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written)
