Radiographer (General)-General Radiology

JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for independently or under the supervision of senior radiographers performing all general radiography imagery procedures, analyzing the output and reporting to the supervisor as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans and performs all general radiography procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols
• Records and reports shortage of materials and maintains records for ordering and replenishments
• Performs other radiography (special) procedures as required
• Evaluates images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness. Forwards images to the Radiologist for review and reporting
• Maintains a clean and tidy working environment including restocking supplies for subsequent use and equipment cleaning
• Provides advice to medical/technical staff on appropriate techniques and clinical staff on appropriate imagery interventions

Accountabilities

• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain skills in all areas of General Radiography as per the requirements of the facility

QUALIFICATIONS Experience :-

Required

• NLT 2 years’ experience as radiographer in a multimodality site/facility including OR, trauma, etc. in an acute care hospital.

Educational Qualification: Required:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging program
• Diploma in Radiology (minimum three (3) years course duration)
• Associate degree in Radiography program (minimum two (2) years course duration)
• And
• Registration/certification or accreditation as a radiographer
• AND Current national license.

Desired

• Master's in Medical Imaging or relevant clinical Msc in related field. (will reduce 1 year from the required years of experience)
