Job Purpose

Within the mission, vision, and values of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz University Hospital at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, the Senior Legal Specialist I, under the general direction of the Director of Legal Affairs provides legal advice and support on matters related to the Hospital’s operations and activities. The role is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents, contracts, policies, and agreements, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and governance standards. The role also supports committees, investigations, complaints, claims, and other legal matters, and coordinates with relevant regulatory and oversight authorities as needed.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on legal, regulatory, and governance matters related to the Hospital’s operations and activities.
  • Draft, review, and prepare contracts, agreements, policies, regulations, correspondence, and legal documents, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and governance requirements.
  • Review and analyze legal cases, disputes, and matters, and provide legal opinions and recommendations accordingly.
  • Participate in committees, investigations, grievances, complaints, claims, and related proceedings.
  • Contribute to strengthening compliance and governance practices and provide legal support to the Hospital’s departments and units.
  • Coordinate with regulatory, oversight, and relevant authorities on legal and regulatory matters.
  • Contribute to the review of agreements, memoranda of understanding, and cooperation matters with relevant local and international entities.
  • Review administrative policies and procedures and provide recommendations for amendments and improvements where appropriate.
  • Support dispute resolution, litigation, arbitration, and court-related matters as needed.
  • Respects patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
  • Participates in, and supports, quality improving and patient safety activates as an individual or as part of multidisciplinary teams. Perform other job-related duties as required.

Job Qualifications and Experience

Minimum or Required: Bachelor’s degree in Law from an accredited university, or Bachelor’s degree in Sharia with Diploma in Law/Advocacy from an accredited institution. with 8 years of experience in a Healthcare sitting.

Preferred: Master degree in law from an accredited university. with 6 years of experience in a Healthcare sitting.
