Performs vascular ultrasound studies on patients in the vascular laboratory, bedside or in the operating room; The vascular scientist must able to analyze complex hemodynamic and imaging information obtained during the scan as its performed to form a diagnosis. Adapt the scan or extend the scan based on observations and measurements taken during the scan and accurately record and report test results.

Experience

  • Hands-on experience performing vascular ultrasounds in clinical settings (e.g., hospitals, vascular labs, outpatient clinics).
  • Familiarity with arterial and venous anatomy , hemodynamics, and pathology.
  • Experience with patient care and clinical documentation .
  • Perform, interpret diagnostics
  • Performed carotid duplex ultrasound to detect stenosis, plaque buildup, and evaluate stroke risk.
  • Conducted peripheral arterial duplex studies in upper and lower extremities to assess for peripheral artery disease (PAD) and aneurysms.
  • Measured ankle-brachial index (ABI) and segmental limb pressures to quantify arterial obstruction.
  • Executed transcranial Doppler (TCD) studies to assess intracranial blood flow and cerebrovascular pathology.
  • Conducted lower and upper extremity venous duplex ultrasounds for detection of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and venous insufficiency.
  • Performed venous reflux and compression studies to evaluate valve competency and detect venous reflux or obstruction.
  • Assisted in arteriovenous (AV) fistula mapping and post-procedural bypass graft surveillance for dialysis and vascular surgery patients.
  • Conducted abdominal aortic, renal, and mesenteric artery ultrasounds to detect stenosis, aneurysms, and other vascular abnormalities.
  • Utilized plethysmography (strain-gauge and air) to evaluate limb volume changes and assess arterial circulation.
  • Operated and maintained advanced ultrasound and Doppler equipment , ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate hemodynamic measurements.
  • Recorded, analyzed, and documented diagnostic findings in compliance with laboratory protocols and physician review.
  • Collaborated with vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, and cardiologists to provide real-time imaging support during interventional vascular procedures .

Qualification

  • Bachelors degree or Diploma in Diagnostic ultrasound or Sonography (3 year)
  • Bachelors degree or Diploma in Radiography or Medical imaging (3 year) + Post -primary certificate or Diploma degree in Diagnostic ultrasound (1 year)
