Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Consultant Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our leading healthcare team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized anesthesia care for adult and pediatric cardiac surgeries, interventional cardiology procedures, and other complex cardiovascular interventions. The role requires expertise in perioperative management, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive anesthesia services for cardiac, thoracic, and major vascular surgical procedures.
  • Conduct detailed pre-anesthetic evaluations, including risk assessment, optimization of medical conditions, and anesthesia planning.
  • Administer general anesthesia for complex cardiac surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve surgeries, congenital heart procedures, heart transplantation, and aortic surgeries.
  • Deliver anesthesia support for interventional cardiology and structural heart procedures, including TAVI/TAVR, MitraClip, electrophysiology procedures, and cardiac catheterization.
  • Perform and interpret intraoperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) for surgical decision-making and patient monitoring.
  • Manage advanced invasive hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial lines, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, and cardiac output monitoring.
  • Provide perioperative critical care management for cardiac surgical patients in collaboration with intensivists and cardiac surgeons.
  • Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies, including resuscitation, cardiogenic shock, and perioperative complications.
  • Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, perfusionists, intensivists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding anesthesia plans, associated risks, and post-operative recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with DHA regulations and hospital policies.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education activities.
  • Mentor junior anesthesiologists, residents, and allied healthcare professionals where applicable.
  • Ensure adherence to patient safety standards, infection control protocols, and ethical medical practices.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a recognized Residency in Anesthesiology.
  • Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Cardiac Anesthesia from a recognized institution.
  • Board Certification or equivalent in Anesthesiology.
  • Certification in Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) is highly preferred.
  • DHA Eligibility Letter, DHA License, or eligibility for Consultant licensure in Dubai.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8–10 years of post-specialization experience in Cardiac Anesthesia.
  • Extensive experience providing anesthesia for adult and pediatric cardiac surgeries and interventional cardiac procedures.
  • Experience in tertiary care hospitals with established cardiothoracic surgery programs is highly preferred.
