JOB SUMMARY
Effectively support physicians in performing a variety of highly specialized cardiovascular procedures including, but not limited to, diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, ventricular device , Intra Aortic Balloon pump and electrophysiology studies
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To be competent in support the physician in the following range of clinical/technical procedure and techniques:
- Coronary Angiography and Percutaneous Angioplasty and Stenting and Valvuloplasty: Monitoring / Recording / measuring / Interpreting
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps: Set up / Maintenance / Troubleshoot
- Right Heart Studies: Monitoring / Calculations / Record / Measure / Analyze
- TAVR, Mitraclip: PFO/ASD Closure: Monitoring / Recording / Measuring / Interpreting
- Ventricular Assist Device: Set up / Maintenance / Troubleshoot
- Intra-Vascular Ultrasound, Pressure Wires & Rotablator: Set up / Measure / Record
- Temporary Pacing: Set up / Troubleshoot / Threshold testing
- Device Implantation: Equipment set-up / Patient preparation / Monitor / Record / Measure / Test / Analyze / Interpret / Program / Troubleshoot
- Electrophysiology studies and standard ablation: Equipment set-up / Patient preparation / Monitoring / Recording / Measuring / Interpreting / troubleshooting – using programmable stimulator, EP lab system and lesion creation technologies (radio frequency, cryo)
- Complex ablation (ablation of atrial fibrillation and tachycardia / ablation of ventricular tachycardia): Equipment set-up / patient preparation monitoring / Recording / Measuring / Interpreting / troubleshooting – using 3D non-fluoroscopic mapping and navigation systems (Carto 3, ensite Velocity).
- Educate and train new staff
- Assist with maintaining supplies.
- Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
- Provide patients with the utmost care and attention. All patients shall be assured of their privacy and personal dignity.
- Maintains a positive interaction with medical device vendors
- Cooperates with cardiology engineers in the upkeep and quality assurance of hemodynamic and other equipment
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular program or Allied Health specialized program in Cardiovascular Technology (minimum two (2) year curriculum) is required
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience(Cathlab,Vascular, Echocardiography, or ECG) is required
Certification and Licensure
- Current national license is required
- BLS is required
- ACLS is required
- RCIS/RCES
Job Specific Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to speak and write in English is required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to speak Arabic is preferred
