MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To lead and manage the nursing team in the provision of patient-centric and evidence based nursing care, operational efficiency and positive patient experiences
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- To provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team
- To ensure evidenced based patient care practices are followed as per clinical standards
- To ensure a positive patient care experience by developing employees and creating an environment for team engagement
- To manage allocated clinical and non-clinical resources in a cost effective and efficient manner to enhance safe patient care
- To ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continues quality improvement
Required Education Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognised/accredited Nursing Institute
Required Experience Essential: At least 5 years’ nursing experience, preferably in a private hospital/clinic
Desired: 3-5 Years’ senior nursing experience
Required Job Skills And Knowledge
- Demonstrate the ability to implement all five (5) stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation and evaluation)
- Application of the nursing scope of practices as stipulated in the regulatory framework
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications
- Demonstrate competence in assessment of all nursing procedures
- Demonstrate competence in the application of key clinical equipment used in the clinic
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of patient care and nursing management
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of relevant Acts, statutory regulations and directives, and the application thereof to management of the nursing team/unit
- Demonstrate the ability to cost-effectively control expenses
- Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of all relevant external standards and manage compliance to these standards
- Risk management principles, systems and best practice
- Stock control principles and management
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
