Internal Audit Manager

About the Role

The Manager – Internal Audit is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on operational and financial internal audit engagements in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and PureHealth Internal Audit methodology. The role supports effective governance, risk management, and internal control across assigned entities.

Areas of Responsibility

• Plan and perform end-to-end internal audit engagements including risk assessment, fieldwork, and reporting
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance, and risk management processes
• Identify audit issues, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend practical, value-adding improvements
• Prepare clear and concise internal audit reports and present findings to management
• Conduct follow-up audits to assess implementation of agreed corrective actions
• Support investigations, special audits, and ad hoc reviews as required
• Provide guidance and coaching to internal audit team members when applicable

Technical Responsibilities

• Execute audits in line with IIA IPPF standards and Internal Audit policies
• Develop risk and control matrices and audit testing programs
• Perform data analysis and substantive testing to support audit conclusions
• Maintain proper audit documentation and evidence
• Support continuous improvement of internal audit practices and tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional certification preferred: CIA, CPA, ACCA, ACA
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); data analytics skills preferred
• Minimum 8 years of relevant Internal Audit experience, preferably within healthcare or complex organizations
• Proven experience conducting operational and financial audits

Desired

• Healthcare sector experience, preferably within hospital environments
• Experience working in group or corporate audit environments
