Nurse Unit Manager - Oncology Unit

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To lead and manage the oncology nursing team in the provision of patient-centric and evidence based nursing care, operational efficiency and positive patient experiences
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- To provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team
- To ensure evidence based patient care practices are followed as per clinical standards
- To ensure positive patient experiences by developing employees and creating an environment that enables team engagement
- To manage allocated clinical and non-clinical resources in a cost efficient and effective manner to enhance safe patient care
- To monitor and manage compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continuous quality improvement
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognised/accredited Nursing Institute
Desired: Master of Science in Nursing or related Healthcare field
Desired: ONS certification or any other relevant oncology credential
valid BLS and ACLS certificate
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Essential: At least 3-5 years’ senior oncology nursing experience, preferably in a private hospital
Desired: 5-10 years senior oncology nursing experience
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Demonstrate the ability to implement all five (5) stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation and evaluation)
- Presentation Skills
- UAE Labour Law
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications
- Cost management principles
- Demonstrate Nursing functional competence (Nursing practice)
- Demonstrate the ability to manage meetings effectively
- Quality management and governance standards and best practice
- Risk management principles, systems and best practice
- Skilled in the demonstration and assessment of all relevant clinical procedures
- Stock control principles and management
- UAE healthcare regulatory framework and related requirements
- Workforce planning and scheduling
