Job Description
Role Purpose:
Lead the Program Management Office to deliver disciplined execution of Bupa Arabia’s digital portfolio. This role will establish and enforce enterprise-wide program governance, ensure strategic priorities are translated into executable roadmaps, and drive delivery excellence across IT, product, platform, and engineering.
The Director will own portfolio-level prioritization, benefits realization, and delivery capacity planning, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable business value, on time and within budget. The role will also act as the bridge between technology execution and business outcomes, fostering alignment, transparency, and adoption across the enterprise.
Key Accountabilities:
1- Strategic Planning;
- Establish and evolve enterprise-wide program/project management methodologies (Agile, SAFe, PMI/PMP) tailored to Bupa Arabia’s operating model
- Drive portfolio prioritization and integrated planning to align initiatives with business strategy and resource capacity.
- Define value realization metrics and ensure programs deliver measurable business impact.
2- Program & Project Oversight;
- Oversee execution across IT, product, platform, and engineering teams, ensuring end-to-end visibility and accountability for outcomes.
- Monitor budgets, timelines, KPIs, and delivery quality, ensuring adherence to the approved business case.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issues across parallel workstreams, implementing mitigation strategies.
3- Stakeholder Engagement & Governance;
- Coordinate program planning, resource allocation, and progress reporting with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Lead governance forums and steering committees, ensuring transparency on progress, challenges, and decision points.
- Act as the bridge between technology execution and business outcomes, enabling data-driven decision-making.
4- Team Leadership & Capability Building;
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing PMO team with strong program/project management capabilities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement across all initiatives.
- Ensure consistent adoption of best practices, tools, and standards for program and project management.
Skills
- Mastery of program/project management frameworks including Agile, SAFe, PMI, and PMP-certified (preferred).
- Proven track record in leading large-scale, cross-functional programs across digital, IT, and engineering.
- Strong skills in roadmap planning, executive reporting, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution.
- Deep understanding of software delivery lifecycles, enterprise systems, and technology governance.
- Proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented with a business-first mindset.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in fast-paced environments.
- Prior experience in healthcare, insurance, or regulated industries is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, and Power BI is beneficial
- Professional project/program management certifications strongly preferred (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist).
- Additional certifications in portfolio management (PfMP) or process improvement (Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Project Management, or related discipline preferred.
