The Registered Nurse – Operating Theatre (Ophthalmology) is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care for ophthalmic surgical procedures. The role includes preparing the operating theatre, assisting surgeons during procedures such as cataract, retinal, glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgeries, and ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection prevention standards. The nurse is responsible for instrument preparation, patient safety, documentation, and effective collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.

Candidates must hold a valid DHA Registered Nurse License/Eligibility with a minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Theatre experience exclusively in Ophthalmology surgeries. BLS certification is mandatory, while ACLS is preferred. Strong knowledge of ophthalmic surgical instruments, sterilization processes, and perioperative patient care is essential.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• DHA license or eligibility as a Registered Nurse (mandatory).
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Theatre experience, with hands-on procedures such as cataract, retinal, glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgeries Preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, patient safety, and surgical instrumentation.
