Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. The role requires a valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) license and involves working closely with physicians and critical care teams to deliver high-quality respiratory care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and nebulization treatments
• Operate and monitor ventilators (invasive and non-invasive)
• Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis
• Assist in intubation, extubation, and airway management procedures
• Monitor patient response to treatment and adjust care as directed by physicians
• Provide emergency respiratory care in ICU, ER, and ward settings
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment use
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient progress
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment
• Follow infection control, safety, and DOH regulatory standards

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
• Valid DOH License / Eligibility Letter as Respiratory Therapist (mandatory)
• Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience, preferably in ICU or critical care
• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory care protocols

• Proficiency in operating respiratory care equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in NICU / PICU settings
• Certification in BLS / ACLS
• Exposure to advanced respiratory therapies

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
