Special Educational Needs ( SENCO )

Job Purpose We are seeking a highly competent, dedicated, and experienced SENCO to lead our inclusion department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the identification, assessment, and support of students with additional needs, ensuring that every child receives a tailored and high-quality education in line with KHDA and UAE inclusive education frameworks. Key Responsibilities \* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the center’s inclusion policy to ensure "best practice" in all areas of special needs education. \* Individualized Support: Lead the design and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavioral Support Plans. \* Team Mentorship: Provide professional guidance and training to classroom teachers and learning support assistants (LSAs). \* Parental Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for parents, providing regular updates and workshops to support home-school collaboration. \* Compliance: Maintain accurate records and documentation required for KHDA inspections and internal audits. Required Qualifications & Skills \* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification in SEN (e.g., National Award for SEN Coordination) is highly preferred. \* Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in an inclusive education setting, preferably within the UAE. \* Expertise: Deep understanding of the KHDA Inspection Framework and the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework. \* Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a proactive "problem-solver" mindset. \* Certification: Valid CACHE Level 3 or higher is an advantage.
