SPECIALIST OBSTETRICS & GYNECOLOGY

1.1 Treat patients by reviewing and understanding their medical backgrounds and examining them to assess their current condition and health.

1.2 Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical histories reports, and examination results.

1.3 Treat diseases of female organs.

1.4 Care for and treat women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods.

1.5 Prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.

1.6 Perform caesarean sections or other surgical procedures as needed to preserve patients' health and deliver babies safely.

1.7 Analyse records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patient.

1.8 Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.

1.9 Monitor patients' conditions and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.

1.10 Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease

prevention

1.11 Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.

1.12 Explain the risks of prohibited activities to patients

1.13 Give health advice to patients

1.14 Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating and liaising closely with

colleagues.

1.15 Practice governance and audits within your department.

1.16 Attend clinical management meetings.

1.17 Complete administration, which can include anything from accurately recording patient

interventions and referrals to overseeing budgetary information.

1.18 Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and

other medical staff

1.19 Consult with or provide consulting services to other physicians.
