Job Summary

The Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology is responsible for providing comprehensive women's healthcare services including gynecological consultations, preventive care, antenatal care, family planning, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of obstetric and gynecological conditions. The physician shall practice in accordance with Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi regulations, professional standards, and approved clinical privileges.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Services

• Conduct comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology consultations.
• Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor gynecological conditions.
• Provide antenatal and postnatal care.
• Perform routine women's health examinations.
• Conduct cervical cancer screening and women's preventive health services.
• Manage menstrual disorders, menopause-related conditions, and reproductive health concerns.
• Provide family planning and contraceptive counseling.
• Diagnose and manage common gynecological infections and disorders.
• Request and interpret laboratory and radiological investigations.
• Perform office-based gynecological procedures within approved clinical privileges.
• Refer patients appropriately to hospitals or higher levels of care when required.

Patient Safety and Quality

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
• Obtain informed consent before procedures.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control requirements.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety activities.
• Report incidents, adverse events, and sentinel events according to clinic policy.

Collaboration

• Coordinate patient care with Family Medicine, Radiology, Nursing, and other specialties.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions when required.
• Support health promotion and patient education initiatives.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete all clinical documentation within required timelines.
• Participate in departmental meetings and quality activities.
• Comply with all clinic policies, DOH regulations, and accreditation requirements.
• Maintain CME and professional licensing requirements.

QualificationsMandatory Requirements

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi License as Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience

• Minimum experience as required by DOH Professional Qualification Requirements.
• Experience in outpatient women's health and antenatal care preferred.
