Specialist Opthalmology

Job Summary The Ophthalmologist is responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical eye care services, diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders of the eye, performing ophthalmic procedures, and ensuring high-quality patient care in accordance with DOH regulations, hospital policies, and international clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using specialized ophthalmic equipment.

• Diagnose and manage disorders affecting the eyes and visual system.

• Treat conditions including:

• Cataracts

• Glaucoma

• Diabetic Retinopathy

• Macular Degeneration

• Dry Eye Disease

• Refractive Errors

• Corneal Diseases

• Retinal Disorders

• Ocular Trauma

• Conjunctivitis and other eye infections

• Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and treatment plans.

• Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures within the approved clinical privileges.

• Manage emergency ophthalmology cases.

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.

• Refer patients to other specialties when required.
