Technical Consultant – FHIR & nphies

Role Overview:
The Technical Consultant will serve as a strategic advisor and technical expert supporting the client’s initiatives within the nphies ecosystem. This role demands a deep understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, particularly FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), and the broader Saudi healthcare landscape, including payer-provider systems, financial health services, and digital transformation goals.
The consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams—technical, business, and delivery—to ensure successful implementation, integration, and optimization of healthcare solutions aligned with nphies standards and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Domain Expertise & Advisory
- Provide expert guidance on FHIR standards, HL7 protocols, and healthcare interoperability.
- Advise on best practices for integrating nphies requirements into existing healthcare systems.
- Stay current with regulatory updates and digital health trends in Saudi Arabia.
Client Engagement & Needs Assessment
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand strategic goals, operational challenges, and technical requirements.
- Conduct gap analysis and recommend tailored solutions for interoperability, data exchange, and financial workflows.
Solution Architecture & Integration
- Design and review system architectures that support FHIR-based data exchange and nphies compliance.
- Recommend integration strategies for HIS, HIE, payer systems, and provider platforms.
Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities to streamline healthcare operations, reduce costs, and improve data accuracy and accessibility.
- Support automation and digitalization of financial health services.
Technology Enablement
- Recommend tools, platforms, and technologies that support scalable and secure healthcare data management.
- Support adoption of cloud-based solutions, APIs, and microservices architectures.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, QA, and Delivery teams to ensure functional alignment and successful rollout.
- Participate in solution reviews, testing, and validation of new functionalities.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Act as a trusted SME for nphies-related initiatives, providing insights and training to internal and client teams.
- Support documentation, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bsc. Degree in Software Engineering, MIS or Computer Science.
- 5 years experience in Health Tech industry.
- Proven experience in healthcare IT systems (HIE, HIS, payer-provider platforms).
- Strong understanding of FHIR, HL7, and healthcare interoperability frameworks.
- Experience with solution architecture, system integration, and enterprise platforms.
- Strong background in software development (.NET, Java, backend/frontend technologies).
- Strong project management and delivery oversight capabilities.
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder communication skills.
- Solid experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation.
- Familiarity with nphies platform, standards, and operational models is a significant advantage.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is mandatory.
