Scottish Borders CAMHS aims to deliver person centred care based on the GIRFEC principles within our community. As we progress with our service improvement program work we see this significant post as central, and an exciting opportunity to transform the way we support and care for children / young people and families in the community.

The Nurse Practitioner will work with the members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure services are effective. This will include professional and practice development and ensuring high quality person-centred care is delivered. The post holder will lead by example to maintain high standards of care and practice to improve client care in the specialist CAMHS service. We are looking for a motivated nurse who wants to develop their clinical experience and knowledge of children and young people’s mental health.

We provide Tier 3 multidisciplinary and psychological interventions, and Tier 4 intensive community treatment. Led by our population’s changing needs and national guidance we are fostering a period of innovation and positive change across a range of CAMHS activities and also between ourselves and our multiagency partners.

We provide regular in House training opportunities through Continued Professional Development.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected. Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case.
