JOB SCOPE

The Chief Accountant will be Responsible managing all aspects of the accounting department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing financial insights that support operational decisions. This role will require a strong understanding of the rehabilitation and LTC business processes, tax regulations, and healthcare cost structures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Educations and Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role within the healthcare sector.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and managing financial operations in a healthcare setting.

SKILLS AND PORFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare business processes, tax laws, and cost structures.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting and hospital information system software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with a focus on data analysis and presentation.

LANGUAGE

  • Proficiency in written, read and spoken Arabic and English languages

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (But not limited to)

GENERAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable and payroll.
  • Prepare and manage fixed asset schedule.
  • Manage month end, quarterly and year end books closing.
  • Reviewing the reconciliation of banks, GL, accounts payables and accounts receivables.
  • Reviewing the reconciliation of intercompany and related party balances.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and relevant regulations.
  • Manage cash flow forecasts to optimize collections and payments.
  • Support negotiations with banks, investors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns, VAT refunds, and withhold tax.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits to finalize annual financial statements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accountants and finance professionals.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support operational decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage revenue cycle accounting, including patient billing and insurance claims.
  • Implement and oversee ERP systems and hospital information systems relevant to rehabilitation and LTC.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop annual budgets and monitor performance against budgeted figures.
  • Implement processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of revenue and receivables.
  • Collaborate with department heads to establish financial objectives aligned with strategic goals.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
  • Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting team.
