Purpose and Scope of the Job

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cerner Analyst to join our IT Applications team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working across multiple Cerner modules, with a strong understanding of both clinical and operational workflows. This role involves system support, configuration, testing, and optimization of various Cerner solutions in collaboration with clinical and business stakeholders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards

  • Provide application support, configuration, and troubleshooting for Cerner Millennium modules.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational departments (physician, emergency, nursing, materials management) to understand workflow needs and implement system solutions accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain CCL (Cerner Command Language) reports and queries.
  • Configure and manage EKM rules and clinical decision support logic as per hospital requirements.
  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and integration projects.
  • Support testing efforts, including test script creation, execution, and validation of changes in CERT and PROD environments.
  • Work with HIM, nursing, and physician teams to ensure documentation workflows are efficient and compliant.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and implement changes.
  • Provide end-user training and ongoing support as needed.
  • Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
  • Provides or promotes people centered care.
  • Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.

Qualifications, Competencies and Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Cerner Certification(s) or formal training in relevant modules.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Cerner Millennium systems.

  • Experience with clinical workflows and healthcare operations.

  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare IT environment.

  • Familiarity with integration engines or interface troubleshooting.

  • Proficient in writing and troubleshooting CCL queries and reports.

  • Strong understanding of multiple modules such as:

  • Physician & Nursing Documentation.

  • Emergency.

  • Materials Management.

  • Discern Rules.

Licensure: NA

Language: Well versed in English and Arabic Language will be an added advantage.

Computer Proficiency

  • Good Computer Skills, Proficient in MS Office and related software applications.
  • High proficiency with Computer Software, Programs & Hospital Operating Systems.

Performance Competencies

  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong negotiating skills to resolve any disputes and disciplinary matters.
  • Ability to work with all types of individuals in multiple settings and locations and to promote diversity in the workplace.
  • Must be able to prioritize and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
  • Awareness of required organizational practices and accreditation standards.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
  • Good communication Skills.
