JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Educations and Certificates

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).

  • Valid SCFHS license as a Clinical Pharmacist.

  • Certification in BLS (required); additional certifications (e.g., BCPS) preferred.

Experience

- Minimum 4–6 years of pharmacy experience with at least 2 years in clinical pharmacy practice.

-Experience in inpatient, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings is an advantage.

SKILLS AND PORFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and clinical guidelines.

  • Ability to lead, supervise, and develop pharmacy staff.

  • Proficiency in medication reconciliation and reviewing drug therapy plans.

  • Experience with EMR/HIS systems and digital medication orders.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

-Knowledge of Saudi healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise daily clinical pharmacy services, ensuring accuracy and safety.

  • Conduct clinical rounds and participate in patient care discussions.

  • Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, interactions, and therapeutic effectiveness.

  • Oversee medication therapy management and dosing adjustments.

  • Implement safety protocols and adverse drug event monitoring.

  • Ensure compliance with MOH, CBAHI, and international standards.

  • Coordinate medication audits, quality initiatives, and risk assessments.

  • Report and follow up on medication incidents and near-misses.

  • Supervise, mentor, and train pharmacy staff.

  • Evaluate performance and support continuous professional development.

  • Assign workloads and ensure adequate staffing for clinical services.

  • Collaborate with pharmacy and nursing teams on medication distribution processes.

  • Support medication reconciliation during admissions, transfers, and discharges.

  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and inventory of pharmaceuticals.

  • Communicate medication-related recommendations to physicians and clinical teams.

  • Provide education to staff and patients regarding safe medication use.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical committees.
