Medical Coder – Malpractice Documentation (Staff Support)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Coder to assist our medical staff with malpractice-related documentation and coding. The candidate will ensure accurate and compliant medical coding, supporting internal processes and maintaining proper records for staff malpractice cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records related to staff malpractice documentation.
• Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to ensure compliance with legal and insurance requirements.
• Verify accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes related to malpractice incidents.
• Maintain confidentiality of all staff and patient records.
• Collaborate with the administration and legal departments to ensure timely and accurate submission of required documents.
• Assist in audit preparation and provide clarification when needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Coding, Health Information Management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding systems.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle sensitive information.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in medical coding (experience in malpractice documentation is a plus).
