Key Responsibilities

  1. Hospital Operations Management
  • Oversee daily hospital operations to ensure seamless functioning across all departments.
  • Monitor patient flow, bed management, outpatient and inpatient services to optimize efficiency.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure operational readiness of hospital facilities at all times.

  1. Departmental Coordination
  • Coordinate with clinical heads, nursing leadership, and support services (HR, Finance, IT, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Security).
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication to resolve operational issues.
  • Support department managers in operational planning and execution.

  1. Policy Implementation & Compliance
  • Ensure hospital operations comply with:
  • Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) regulations
  • Accreditation standards (e.g., Accreditation Canada / JCI)
  • Internal hospital policies and SOPs
  • Assist in audits, inspections, and accreditation surveys.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions based on audit findings.

  1. Resource & Capacity Management
  • Oversee efficient utilization of hospital resources including manpower, equipment, and facilities.
  • Monitor staffing levels in coordination with HR and Nursing Administration.
  • Support workforce planning and operational budgeting.

  1. Quality & Patient Experience
  • Collaborate with Quality and Patient Experience teams to improve service delivery.
  • Monitor patient complaints, feedback, and service indicators.
  • Ensure timely resolution of operational-related patient issues.
  • Support initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and safety.

  1. Financial & Cost Control Support
  • Assist in monitoring operational costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure operational practices align with approved budgets.
  • Support procurement planning and vendor coordination.

  1. Emergency & Risk Management
  • Participate in emergency preparedness, disaster management, and evacuation planning.
  • Ensure departments are compliant with safety, infection control, and risk management protocols.
  • Act as an escalation point during operational incidents or crises.

  1. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
  • Prepare operational reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards for senior management.
  • Track operational efficiency metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Support strategic planning and operational projects.
