Phlebotomist (UAE Nationals Only)

Phlebotomists are medical professionals who work in medical labs, taking blood samples from patients and adequately labelling them with their information.

Responsibilities

1. Successfully maintain records of blood drawings, and generate reports to submit to physicians and/or other healthcare professionals. Contributes to the general laboratory functions and institutional needs.

2. Attends regular department staff meetings and in-service

training.

1. Maintains compliance with laboratory and hospital policies and procedures, and safety practices.

Ensures all orders and forms are complete, responsible for labelling the specimen vials and arranging transportation of specimens to laboratories for analysis.

1. Cleans, prepares, and ensures supplies are appropriately stocked and ready for use in the exam room and clinical areas. Cleans and sanitizes as needed.

2. Follows patient identification protocol, maintains confidentiality, and upholds compliance standards according to policy.

Skills

1. Accurately label the samples to send them to medical centres for testing.

2. Ability to connect with various types of patients (such as children, elderly, pregnant women) and make them feel comfortable.

3. Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.

4. Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials and other equipment.

5. Energy and desire to succeed; follows through on commitments; pushes self and others to deliver exceptional results

6. Understanding of proper patient identification methods.

7. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, often with a high level of ambiguity and change.

8. DOH license is mandatory

9. UAE Valid driving license is a plus
