Job Description – Senior Marine Engineer (Boats / Yachts / Speed Boats)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Marine Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in boats, yachts, and speed boats. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of marine engines and onboard systems. Candidates with experience in oil rigs, offshore platforms, or tugboats will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boats, yachts, and speed boats
• Diagnose and repair inboard and outboard engines (diesel & petrol)
• Oversee maintenance of:
• Propulsion systems
• Gearboxes and shafts
• Cooling systems
• Fuel systems
• Steering and hydraulic systems
• Conduct engine overhauls, inspections, and performance testing
• Coordinate with boat owners, captains, and yard teams for maintenance planning
• Supervise junior engineers and technicians when required
• Ensure compliance with marine safety and quality standards
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in boats, yachts, and speed boats maintenance
• Strong knowledge of marine diesel & petrol engines
• Hands-on experience with leisure crafts and small-to-medium marine vessels
• Experience in oil rigs, offshore vessels, or tugboats is NOT acceptable
• Good troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Willingness and ability to relocate and work in Oman

Preferred Skills

• Experience with luxury yachts or high-speed boats
• Knowledge of marine electrical basics and control systems
• Leadership and team-handling skills
• Familiarity with OEM standards and service manuals

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
